Cumberland Police Kept Busy

Cumberland Police Department responded to the 400 block of Wempe Dr Saturday in reference to a hit and run that occurred overnight. It was learned that an unoccupied parked vehicle was struck on the driver side causing moderate damage. There are no suspects or witnesses at this time. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Cumberland Police Dept at 301-777-1600.

Saturday afternoon, Cumberland Police were called to Queen City Pavement in reference to a disorderly subject. Upon arrival it was learned that 24 year old William Bernier, no fixed address, was asked to leave the property on several occasions. Bernier refused to leave and the police were contacted. Officers then ordered Bernier several times to vacate the area in which he did not comply. Bernier was placed under arrest and issued a Criminal Citation for Failure to Obey a lawful Order.

Cumberland Police Dept responded to two different businesses located on Park Street Saturday evening in reference to a male subject harassing customers and refusing to leave the establishments after being told to do so by employees.  24 year old Paul Harman was advised again not to return to either business. After clearing the scene, Officers observed Harman again enter the business he was told not to return to. He was placed under arrest and charged with two counts of trespassing and one count of failure to obey a lawful order. He is being held in lieu of $5,000 bond.
