On October 18, 2016 at approximately 7:34 PM the Cumberland Police responded to a residence in the 400 block of South Street in reference to a hit and run involving a pedestrian. Police learned a male subject was outside working on his vehicle on South Street at approximately 7:00 PM when an unknown vehicle, possibly a dark colored SUV, drove past him and struck him in the leg and head as he was bent over. The vehicle was last seen traveling toward Industrial Boulevard. Also, it is believed an elderly female was a passenger in the suspect vehicle. The Cumberland Fire Department responded to treat the victim’s minor injuries, but was not transported to the hospital. Police are asking anyone with information in this incident to please contact the Cumberland Police Department at 301-777-1600.
