Cumberland Police Make CDS Arrest & Serve Arrest Warrant

On 02/28/17 at 3:01pm an Officer with the Cumberland Police Dept was on patrol in the area of Henderson Ave when they observed a vehicle commit a traffic violation. The officer performed a traffic stop on the vehicle and made contact with the occupants. Based on the Officers observations and investigation a Police K-9 was requested to the scene. A free air sniff was performed on the vehicle which yielded a positive alert for the odor of narcotics. Officers then located a small amount of CDS on the passenger who was identified as 28 year old Morgan Grubb of Cumberland. Grubb was placed under arrest and transported to Police Headquarters where she was processed and charged with one count of possession of CDS not marijuana. Grubb was taken for an initial appearance at District Court where she was released after posting $4,000 bail pending her next court appearance.

 

Arrest Warrant Served

 

On 02/28/17 the Cumberland Police Dept served an arrest warrant on 20 year old Steven Martin Jenkins of Cumberland. The warrant stems from an investigation initiated on 10/27/16 when Officers responded to a residence in the 600blk of Fayette St for a report of an assault. Upon arrival Officers contacted the victim who stated that they were assaulted by Jenkins. The victim in this case did not require medical attention. An application for charges was completed on Jenkins through the District Court resulting in the arrest warrant being issued. Jenkins was served the warrant charging him with one count of second degree assault and is currently awaiting an initial appearance at District Court.
