On Saturday, August 22, 2015, the 5th Annual Gulf War Memorial Run will be held in downtown Cumberland. The race will start at 8:30 a.m. with a predicted finish no later than 10:00. Participants will stage on Baltimore Street near the George Street intersection for the start of the race. The area will also serve as the finish line. Runners will proceed down Baltimore Street, crossing Centre and Liberty Streets, to the Mechanic Street intersection. The runners will then proceed onto the Great Allegheny Passage where they will continue to a point near the narrows at which time they will return the same route to the finish line. Motorists should attempt to avoid the Baltimore Street/Mechanic Street intersection during the event as some delays will occur there. Officers will be at the affected streets to provide traffic direction and assistance to the runners and motorists moving through the downtown area.
