According to Cumberland resident Erin DeLong, the future of a new Allegany High School is not so much a funding question, but rather a question of commitment on the part of the Allegany County Commissioners. Speaking during the hearing of constituent’s portion of this week’s board of education, DeLong said a new school would bring an “undeniable” economic development boon to the county. She said that it’s clear the county commissioners would prefer the board to pursue a new consolidated high school rather than a new Allegany High, but she doesn’t see that as a realistic approach…
