Cumberland Sets Installation Of Council Members

The swearing-in ceremonies for the newly elected members of the Cumberland City Council
will be held Monday, January 2, 2017, at 12:00 p.m., in the rotunda of City Hall. At that time
Dawne Lindsey, Clerk of the Circuit Court, will officially swear into office David J. Caporale
and Eugene T. Frazier as councilmen. Maryland State Delegate Jason Buckel will serve as the
Master of Ceremonies and Pastor Gary Kennedy of the New Venture Christian Church will
provide the invocation. The ceremonies will be open to the public.

David J. Caporale was the lead vote-getter in the local 2016 election and with his re-election
will serve two consecutive four-year terms, with the current term ending in January of 2021.
Mr. Caporale currently runs the family business, Caporale’s Bakery, which has been operating
in the area since 1906.

Eugene T. Frazier was elected in the November General Election to serve a four-year term
which will also end in January 2021. Mr. Frazier retired in 2015 from CSX Transportation
after 33 years of employment.
