Cumberland Woman Arrested On Assault & Other Charges

On July 27, 2016 officers from the Cumberland City Police Department responded to 325 Pennsylvania Avenue for an assault complaint.  Once officers arrived on the scene they observed a female bleeding from her right hand. During an investigation into the matter officers learned from a witness that he observed a female swinging a knife at a male and female as she chased them up the street.  Officers were able to locate a male victim who was suffering from a cut to his hand as a result of the assault.  Officers learned from the victim that he was involved in an argument with the female suspect when she produced a knife.  After being chased by the female, she attempted to stab him but he was able to knock the knife from her hand.  Officers identified the female suspect as Kara Inez Miller.  Miller was placed under arrest at the scene.  During a search of Miller, officers located marijuana, marijuana paraphernalia, suspected crack cocaine pipe and prescription medication.  The knife used in the assault was also located at the scene which contained blood on the handle and blade.  Miller was transported to the Cumberland City Police Department for processing.  Miller was taken before the District Court Commissioner for a bond hearing.  Miller was held in the Allegany County Detention Center on $20,000.


 

Arrested: Kara Inez Miller                         Age: 29 of Cumberland, MD

Charges: 1st Degree Assault, 2nd Degree Assault, Reckless Endangerment, Disorderly Conduct, Disturbing the Peace, Possession of Prescription Medication without the proper label and Possession of Drug paraphernalia.
