Cummings Will Use Meeting With President To Push A Number Of Issues

January 25th, 2017 by WCBC Radio

Maryland Congressman Elijah Cummings joined MSNBC's Morning Joe this morning to discuss the latest news surrounding President Donald Trump.

Cummings, who talked with Trump at the inaugural luncheon, is looking forward to meeting with the 45th President regarding prescription drug prices, as both of them have been outspoken about the issue.

If given the opportunity, the Democratic member of the House plans on discussing a number of other issues.

"One of which has been bothering me all night, and that is the gag order on federal employees," Cummings said to Joe Scarborough and his co-host, Mika Brzezinski. "We [the Oversight Committee] depend a lot on whistle blowers … I’m telling you [federal employees] the law protects you and I will do every single thing in my power to make sure you're protected."

On the topic of voter fraud, Cummings says that he already beat the president to the punch. Today, the Oversight Committee is sending out letters to every attorney general across the country who have said there is no real voter fraud.
