Current Allegany May Have To Function For A Few More Years

With the future of the new Allegany High School project very much unsettled at this point- the current school may have to remain functioning for a few more years. The original plan targeted a fall of 2017 opening for the new school, but with the recent funding complications that have arisen leading to a possible re-bid- that date is no longer considered a reality.  Facilities Director Vince Montana was asked about the condition of the existing Allegany during this month’s work session of the board of education- specifically about how long it is safe for kids to go there. He said there are no serious safety issues at this point, noting that the biggest problem is with the antiquated heating system…
