On Saturday, Cumberland City Police served a criminal summons on Benjamin Wayne Bryant Grimm, age 26 of Cumberland.
The summons was issued as a result of an alleged assault that took place on September 23, 2018 in the area of Fayette Street and Cumberland Street. During an investigation into the matter, officers learned that Grimm along with two other individuals were involved in an argument over the custody of a child. During the incident it was alleged that Grimm assaulted one of the parties involved in the disturbance.
As a result, charges were applied for at District Court resulting in a summons being issued. Grimm was served with the summons and released pending a trial date.
