DDC Appoints Committee To Develop Downtown Parking Strategy

In response to last week’s public workshop on parking issues in downtown Cumberland- the Downtown Development Commission has appointed an action committee to fine tune the four pages of recommendations and concerns into a more concise strategy. Last week’s session was attended by business and property owners, residents, city officials and citizens at large- and was designed to generate some ideas as to what the real parking issues are- and what realistically and feasibly done to address them. The majority of the work shop discussion centered on the 428-space Center City Parking Garage on George Street, across from the Ramada. During Thursday’s meeting of the DDC, Chairwoman Sandi Saville said that that garage is an obvious starting point for the newly appointed committee….
