Dead body found in Garrett County

Authorities are investigating the death of a man whose body was found Tuesday floating in a collection pond near Garrett Regional Medical Center. The Cumberland Times News is reporting the Garrett County Sheriff's Office said an Oakland resident who was using a walking path around the pond in the vicinity of Memorial Drive and Fourth Street discovered the body around 11:15 a.m.

 

The unidentified body, described by authorities as a white male possibly between 20 and 40 years old, was transported to the state medical examiner's office in Baltimore for autopsy.

The man had short black hair, a goatee and a tattoo on his right forearm, deputies said.

 

Oakland City Police, representatives of the Garrett County State's Attorney's Offfice and the Oakland Fire Department also responded to the scene.
