According to a new report released by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, deaths on the roads has increased by about 10% since the same time in 2011. In the state of Maryland, the highway death toll was 549. According to AAA, one major contributing factor is the recovering economy with more vehicles on the road. AAA says there were less motorists in years past because of unemployment.
