Del. Myers Introduces Second Bill That Would Assist Little Orleans Kids

Delegate Leroy Myers has introduced a second bill designed to allow students residing in the Little Orleans area the option of crossing county lines and attending school in Hancock. The Allegany County Board of Education voted last year to phase out the program as a cost savings measure- however parents there who had taken advantage of plan for a decade protested. After losses in Circuit Court and with the State Board of Education- the parents turned to the legislative delegation for help, and Delegate Myers has now submitted two bills that would essentially overturn the board’s 2011 action.
