Delaney Continues To Bash Hogan For Not Making GOP Choice

March 26th, 2016 by WCBC Radio

Governor Larry Hogan continues to skirt reporters’ repeated questions regarding whether or not he will support Donald Trump as the Republican presidential nominee. In his latest remarks on Thursday, Hogan evaded the central question as to whether or not he will ultimately support Trump, instead telling the Associated Press he has “no idea” who he will support.

As the first Maryland public official to raise the question with Hogan, Congressman John Delaney has repeatedly called on the governor to take an official stance. On Wednesday, Delaney commissioned a mobile billboard to circle the streets around the state capitol in Annapolis, calling on Hogan to give an answer.

“It seems like our pushing on this question has moved the Governor to consider not endorsing Trump,” said Congressman Delaney. “This is a good first step. But we continue to encourage him to follow the lead of other Republicans like Governor Romney and Senator Sasse and provide an unequivocal rejection of Trump and his bigoted comments, lack of support for our NATO forces in this time of increased terror threats, and overall divisive comments. Democrats and Republicans can be united against Trump’s approach to leadership.”
