Delaney Pushing for Minimum Wage Increase

August 25th, 2013 by WCBC Radio

Maryland representative John Delaney is pushing for a minimum wage increase in Maryland. Delaney commented that raising the minimum wage will help working families and also in turn improve Maryland's economy. Maryland's current minimum wage is $7.25 an hour and currently 19 states have a higher minimum wage than Maryland. An effort to raise the state's minimum wage to $10 an hour by 2015 failed to pass a Senate committee in this year's legislative session.
