A recent letter to the editor from Delegate 1C representative Mike McKay touts Cumberland’s Safe Streets Initiative as a key program that has led to a reduction in crime in the area. That program essentially sees warrant sweeps routinely performed targeted repeat offenders. One of McKay’s opponents in this year’s 1C campaign is former Cumberland City Councilwoman Nicole Alt Myers.
