Delegate Myers Wants A Total/Accurate Cost Projection Of Footer Dye Works Restoration

Delegate Leroy Myers says he believes its imperative for the Canal Place Preservation and Development Authority to get an estimate on exactly how much of a fiscal investment needs to be made to salvage and renovate the historic Footer Dye Works Building. The aging, and deteriorating structure has become a point of controversy in recent years with some wanting to preserve it as a tourist attractive and the potential for development into a restaurant or retails opportunities; others would rather it just be demolished to clear the site. Already there are reports that just to fix the roof of the building would cost approximately $600,000. Myers tells WCBC News that it’s time to get a total, accurate cost projection- and then determine whether or not it is worth that type of investment…
