Democratic group calls out Hogan for silence on Trump

May 7th, 2016 by WCBC Radio

After the field of GOP presidential candidates cleared the way for Donald Trump to secure the party's nomination, a Democratic group is singling out Gov. Larry Hogan and other Republican governors for their silence on Trump.

A new webpage launched by the Democratic Governors Association calls out "The Silent 9," or nine Republican governors who have not stated whether they would support Trump's bid for the presidency.

While Hogan has yet to state whether he would support or denounce Trump as the new presidential nominee, he has said in the past that he's certainly no fan of the New York real-estate mogul.

In a March interview with The Associated Press, he said "I don't think he should be the nominee." However, that was back before Texas Sen. Ted Cruz and Ohio Gov. John Kasich dropped out of the race to leave Trump as the sole candidate.
