Despite Delays and Cancellations Elsewhere, Board Doesn’t See Change to Picking Superintendent

While the Coronavirus has led to public schools being closed and everything from primary elections to the Preakness being delayed- so far the Allegany County Board of Education is not anticipating having to alter its schedule to hire the next superintendent. Meetings between the local board and  the Maryland Association of Boards of Education- which is assisting with the search- will continue to take place via teleconferencing. Board President Tammy Fraley said at this point there doesn’t seem to be a need to alter or delay the process…

    So if these measures had not happened they would have paid for travel and other expenses of candidates without even considering this option. That’s what happens when you are spending someone else’s money. There is probably millions in wasted money on unnecessary travel in the state. But I’m sure they will go back to wasting money as soon as this is over.
