DeVore Steps Down as Director of Emergency Services

Allegany County's Department of Emergency Services director  and Emergency Services Division chief are no longer serving in those positions. Dick DeVore, a former Allegany County 911 dispatcher who has led the department since 2011, is no longer serving in that capacity, according to communications sent to county employees by County Administrator Brandon Butler Wednesday afternoon.  Robert Pattison, who was reportedly suspended several weeks ago, also was relieved of his duties as EMS division chief, according to a separate email sent Wednesday afternoon to county employees.     Since there were 2 employees that have been named as suspended from duties it sounds as though there may be problems of a criminal nature. If so, charges should be forthcoming. If no criminal charges than it is the appearance that they were incapable of doing their jobs. As taxpayers we should have an answer as to why.
