Randy Bittinger, longtime director of finance for the Allegany County Board of Education, is stepping down to take an administrative position with Garrett College. Bittinger, who has been with the central office administration of the school board for ten years, previously worked in the county’s finance department. School Superintendent David Cox confirmed the news to WCBC News Thursday afternoon. The school board is currently in the process of putting together its FY ’17 budget- and Cox says Bittinger will remain on board until the end of June which will enable him to help complete the budget. Dr Cox says while Bittinger’s departure is a difficult blow to the system, he is always pleased to see a member of his staff advance to explore other opportunities…
