More rights have been given to same-sex couples, as the Maryland Court of Appeals has voted unanimously to recognize same-sex marriages performed in other states. In addition, the court has also agreed to divorce them. The highest court in the state voted 7-0 to allow same-sex couples to divorce under Maryland law. Maryland Governor Martin O'Malley agreed with the ruling.
