Domestic Arrest Made

Officers responded to the area of Valley St. at Henderson Ave.for report of an assault that was in progress and stopped by an Allegany County Sheriff’s Deputy.  Upon the officers arrival he contacted the deputy who advised that he observed the two subjects actively fighting and then separated them.  The officer then contacted the victim who advised that he was assaulted by his girlfriend Shameka Toney when she ripped off his shirt during the argument.  Officers observed minor injuries to the victim that did not require medical attention.  Officers then contacted Shameka who stated that they were arguing that escalated into a fight.  There were no injuries to Shameka.  When asked where the children were she advised that they were home.  When asked who was with the children she advised that nobody was.  Further investigation revealed that the victim and Shameka had been in a domestic argument earlier in the day when the victim left the residence.  Later he returned to the residence on Elm St. to get some of his belongings when they began to argue again while in the cab sitting in front of the house.  The cab pulled away and Shameka remained in the cab until they began to argue and fight on Valley St.  Officers responded to Elm St. to take possession of the two children ages are 1 year and 3 months.  CPS was contacted and elected to let the children remain with a family member.  Shameka was placed under arrest and transported to the station where she was charged and processed.

Charges: Assault 2nd Degree, 2 cts Contribute to the condition of a child. Toney was taken for a Bond Hearing and released on her personal recognizance.
