Domestic Assualt Arrest Made

On Wednesday, September 25, 2012 at approximately 4:00 a.m., the Cumberland City Police Department responded to a residence in the 200 block of Milton Place in reference to a domestic assault.  The emergency dispatching center received a 911 call from this residence and was able to hear a female requesting not to be assaulted anymore.  Officers arrived on scene and were not able to get an answer at the door at which time entry was made.  The female victim requested an ambulance for treatment of an injury to her arm as a result of being assaulted.  The male suspect, Richard Paul Sacchetti was placed under arrest.  The female stated that Sacchetti assaulted her by pulling her hair and throwing her into the wall.  The female stated that Sacchetti then tried to shove her down a flight a stairs. Sacchetti was also wanted on an arrest warrant from a previous assault which took place at this same residence the prior day.

The female was treated and released at the hospital for non-life threatening injuries.  Sacchetti was taken to District Court and held on a total of $70,000.00 at the Allegany County Detention Center.

Richard Paul Sacchetti          Age: 48          Cumberland, MD

Charges:

The on-view charges consisted of; second degree assault, false imprisonment, and disorderly conduct. The warrant charges Sacchetti with; first degree assault, two counts of second degree assault, reckless endangerment and false imprisonment.
