May 14th, 2014 by WCBC Radio

On May 13, 2014 at approximately 2:00 P.M. deputies from the Allegany County Sheriff's Office responded to a residence on Upper George's Creek Road in reference to a domestic assault. While deputies were en route they were advised by Allegany County dispatch that a male subject was inside the residence with a knife and a female had locked herself in a separate room to get away from the subject. When deputies arrived on scene forced entry was made and deputies secured the male subject and placed him in hand restraints while they conducted their investigation.

A female subject was contacted who advised her husband, Adam Michael Lowery, had approached her inside the residence and placed a knife near her head. The two became involved in a struggle until the female convinced her husband to let her go so she could check on an infant child in the residence. The female then walked to an upstairs bedroom where she was able to secure the child and obtain her cell phone and call 911. She then barricaded herself and the child in the bedroom until deputies arrived on scene.

Adam Michael Lowery was arrested and charged with the following crimes in reference to this incident.

First Degree Assault
Reckless Endangerment
Second Degree Assault
False Imprisonment

Mr. Lowery was held at the Allegany County Detention Center on a $20,000 bond. The Maryland State Police provided assistance during the incident.
