Doug Reed Stepping Down From Post At Canal Place Preservation & Development Authority

Although there are signs that a rift may be growing between the project developer and its potential anchor operation- a longtime member of the Canal Place Preservation and Development Authority says he is leaving at a time when things have never been better for the Footer Dye Works effort.  Doug Reed of the Maryland Historical Trust has been a member of the Canal Place authority since 2012 and participated in his final meeting this week as he is stepping down from the post. Much of his time on the board has focused on the plans to renovate the historic Footer building.  Reports of some conflict surfaced this week between developer Michael Joy and Dig Deep Brewery owner Robert Dettinburn regarding who is responsible for the delayed opening of the business. Despite those reports,  Reed says he remains optimistic and believes the project that has experienced many road blocks and setbacks in the past decade will come to fruition in the near future…
