“Doughboy” To Make Local Debut This Weekend

This weekend, in conjunction with the “Cumberland Goes to War” event- the indie film "Doughboy" will make its local debut with screenings at the Cumberland Theatre. Shot this past spring in Wheeling, "Doughboy" is a story of a troubled teenager whose family moves from New York City to a small, unnamed West Virginia town. While there, he's arrested for vandalizing a statue of an American World War I "doughboy" soldier. Sentenced to community service, he meets veterans and comes to better understand the cost of freedom. Ty DeMartino, who wrote the screenplay, believes the message of the film will resonate with a lot of people…
