UPDATED: Downtown Business Evacuated Due To Natural Gas Smell

9:45 AM UPDATE:
Incident commander Steve Grogg tells WCBC News that CO2 sensors alerted fire personnel, who evacuated the building upon arrive.  Columbia Gas was alerted, and the building was being ventilated to allow safe oxygen levels to return.

 

WCBC News has learned that the CBIZ building in downtown Cumberland has been evacuated due to the smell of natural gas inside the building. Emergency crews are on the scene. WCBC News will have more information as it becomes available…

    I have a good idea. Dig up Baltimore St. and replace all of the existing utilities.
    Forget the boutique hotel and dig up the pipes that probably haven’t seen the light of day since the 1950′s

    Mac, All someone had to do was give a vagrant a cigarette & a match. We could have solve two problems at once, demolition of the pedestrian mall & vagrants.
