Troopers from the McHenry Barracks were investigating a suspicious vehicle in McHenry Friday and upon making contact with the driver, John Sien, 29, Glen Burnie, Troopers detected the odor of burnt marijuana coming from the vehicle. A search of the vehicle revealed a quantity of marijuana and paraphernalia. Sien was charged with possession of marijuana and paraphernalia and released.

Cumberland Police late Friday observed several subjects running in the area of Park Street and they said that they had been robbed. However, when officers investigated it was apparent that the subjects had actually been trying to assault who they had been pursuing. The other party indicated that a knife was displayed after an argument began over someone being asked for drugs. Aaron Matthew Soules, age 23 of Cumberland, was arrested at the scene and was found to be in possession of CDS and CDS paraphernalia. He was charged with Dangerous Weapon-Intent to Injure, Assault 2nd Degree, Possession of CDS-not marihuana, and Possession of CDS Paraphernalia. Soules was taken to Allegany County District Court for an initial appearance and was held on $5,000 bond at the Allegany County Detention Center.
