A New Jersey man and three West Virginia residents have been indicted by a federal grand jury in connection with a prescription painkiller distribution ring. United States Attorney William J. Ihlenfeld, II, announced the indictment Thursday against 31-year-old Matthew L. Cordero of Vineland, New Jersey; 34-year-old Jonathan Paul Calain of Elkins, West Virginia; 27-year-old Stevie Lea Sharp of Coalton, West Virginia; and 34-year-old Gregory Stephen Scott of Beverly, West Virginia. Ihlenfeld said the four men schemed to transport oxycodone from Detroit, New Jersey and Florida into northern West Virginia. Each man is charged with conspiracy to distribute oxycodone, a charge that could land them in prison for up to 20 years with fines of up to $1 million. Calain and Cordero face additional charges.
