DUI Arrest Made on Maryland Avenue

On Friday February 1, 2013, Cumberland City Police officers were dispatched to a check on well being at the intersection of Maryland Avenue and Cecilia Street.

Upon arrival officers observed Woodrow Dean, age 55 of Cumberland slouched over the steering wheel of his vehicle with the engine still running.   The officer further observed an open container of alcohol in Dean’s hand.  Dean was awakened by the officers and upon further investigation; Dean was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol.  A check for wanted person was conducted and it was revealed that Dean had an outstanding arrest warrant for two counts of Violation of

Ex Parte Order where it is alleged that Dean failed to comply with the orders of the Ex Parte on January 28th and January 31, 2013.   He was placed in custody and transported to the Cumberland City Police Department for processing and was issued four citations for the traffic offenses.  Dean was taken to the Allegany County District Court Commissioners for a bond review and was held on a $25,000.00 dollar bond at the Allegany County Detention Center.
