DUI effort yields no arrests, but plenty of warnings

September 25th, 2011 by WCBC Radio

On Saturday evening 09/242011 into the early morning hours Sunday, Troopers from the Maryland State Police Barrack in Cumberland conducted a DUI Saturation Patrol on U.S. Route 220 from Cumberland City to the West Virginia State Line in Allegany County. As a result of the special patrol initiative, four Troopers stopped 28 vehicles and issued 31 warnings. This weekend’s patrol initiative is just one of the various enforcement activities which are planned by local and state law enforcement agencies for the National “Checkpoint Strikeforce” initiative. Motorists are encouraged to report possible intoxicated drivers by contacting the Maryland State Police at 301-729-2101 or #77.
