Early Voting Underway for Primary

A one week period of early voting began Thursday in Maryland. There are 63 early voting polling centers around the state that will be open from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. every day through next Thursday, June 19- including the Allegany County Election offices on Kelly Road in Cumberland.  Governor Martin O'Malley and Maryland House Speaker Michael Busch are calling attention to the start of early voting with a press conference.  The primary is unusually early this year in Maryland. The date was moved up from September to comply with federal rules requiring states to send members of the military and other Americans overseas ballots not later than 45 before a federal election. O'Malley says it's important to remind people that the primary is early this year…
