Edwards Disappointed By Gov. Hogans Call To Ban Fracking

Saying there is “not much potential” for fracking opportunities in Western Maryland- Governor Larry Hogan says the region stands to benefit far more under a package of bills designed to enhance economic opportunities for Garrett and Allegany counties. State Senator George Edwards, although encouraged that the Hogan administration will focus on specific measures designed to improve the region’s economy, was disappointed that the governor abruptly announced his opposition to fracking at a hastily called press conference last week. The local delegation has strongly supported fracking for several years now. Hogan says he can sympathize with the senator’s position, but again feels the region will be better off as a result…
