Maryland Governor-elect Larry Hogan announced six Cabinet-level appointees at a press conference, but despite much speculation in the past month, veteran local lawmaker George Edwards was not selected as Secretary of the Department of Natural Resources. Edwards, a member of the Maryland General Assembly since 1983 and a state senator since 2007, was widely believed to be under serious consideration for the DNR post. Instead Hogan has selected Charlie Evans, a former Assistant Secretary of the Department of Natural Resources, for the job. Edwards tells WCBC News that the only real disappointment he feels about the process is that he wasn’t even afforded the opportunity to interview for the post:
