With the future of the Footer Dye Works project tied to securing state funding this year for critical infrastructure improvements- there is an effort underway to shift capital dollars set aside for other projects to the Footer project. Capital dollars are in place for a proposed Historic Street Lighting project for Washington Street in Cumberland, as well as for the Allegany County Museum. Delegate Mike McKay tells WCBC News that both of those projects have merit and the groups behind them have worked long and hard to secure state funding.
