Elm Street Man Jailed In First CPD Arrest Of 2016

On January 1, 2016 officers from the Cumberland City Police Department responded to the 600 block of Elm Street for a report of a male subject assaulting a female in the street. As the officers arrived in the area they could not locate the parties involved but heard subjects yelling and screaming inside 611 Elm Street. As the officers approached the residence they determined that the disturbance was coming from inside apartment #3. As the officers approached the apartment, the door opened and a female directed the officers towards the back bedroom. As the officers reached the rear bedroom they could hear a male subject yelling and cursing at a female. Once the officers entered the bedroom, they observed the male subject, Joshua Michael Clark throw the female victim to the ground. Officers immediately took Clark into custody for second degree assault. Clark was transported from the scene and taken to the Cumberland City Police Department for processing. Clark was later processed, served and taken before the District Court Commissioner. Clark was held in the Allegany County Detention Center on $3,000 bond.

Charge: 2nd Degree Assault
