Erich Bean Sworn In As Judge For The Allegany County District Court

Veteran prosecutor Erich Michael Bean was officially sworn in as judge for the Allegany County District Court in ceremonies Friday afternoon. Bean was selected November 1st by Governor Larry Hogan to fill the seat following the mandatory retirement of Judge Edward A. Malloy Jr. at age 70. Bean has served as a prosecutor his entire career, including the last nine years with the Allegany County Office of State's Attorney. In July, eight local attorneys submitted applications for appointment and interviews by the Trial Courts Nominating Committee, which made its recommendations to Hogan.
