On August 5, two juvenile males escaped from the Backbone Mountain facility of the Maryland Department of Juvenile Services in Garrett County Maryland. A search was conducted which led into Mineral County West Virginia. During the early morning hours of August 6, 2013 the two juveniles were spotted in the Piedmont West Virginia area. Deputies from the Allegany County Sheriff's Office responded to the area to assist allied agencies. After a brief search the two juveniles were located in the Westernport Maryland area and taken into custody by an Allegany County Sheriff's Office deputy. Agencies involved in the search were Allegany County Sheriff's Office, Mineral County Sheriff's Office, and Keyser City Police.
