The LaVale Library will host a Fake News workshop on Saturday, June 24 at 1:00PM.  “Fake News” is defined as news that is deliberately misleading or false and is spread by traditional broadcast or print media and by various social media networks. This workshop will explore who creates fake news and why, what news sources are unreliable, how to spot fake news in the media, and how fake news is impacting our national culture.  The instructor is Ryan O’Grady, a Deputy Manager in the State Library Resource Center of the Enoch Pratt Free Library in Baltimore. The workshop is free and open to the public.  For more information, contact Joni Reed at 301-777-1200 or email at jreed@alleganycountylibrary.info.
