A familiar voice at Cumberland’s City Hall, Herb Broll, collapsed during Friday night’s Fort Hill/Boonesboro high school football playoff game at Greenway Avenue Stadium and was transported to the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center where initially he was listed in critical condition. Broll, a regular attendee at mayor and council meetings and a self described watch dog over local government, has sought public office himself on two occasions, including just last year when he ran and lost against Brian Grim for the office of mayor.
