A July 4th motorcycle accident in Hampshire County killed a man and injured a woman.
West Virginia State Police announced today that 35 year old Ryan Smith and sidecar passenger 31 year old Sarah Taylor were traveling on Clarence Taylor Road near Springfield when Smith lost control while on a curve. Both were thrown from the motorcycle onto a rocky area near the South Branch of the Potomac.
Smith died as a result of the injuries, while Taylor is receiving treatment at Western Maryland Medical Center.
Alcohol is believed to have been a factor in the mishap.
