The Cumberland Times News reports one person is dead and another in custody following a Monday morning shooting near Rio. Hardy County Sheriff's Office Chief Deputy Jon Baniak said a 22-year-male victim was found dead of an apparent gunshot wound when deputies from Hardy and Hampshire counties and West Virginia State Police arrived at a home off Sperry's Run Road around 7 a.m. Baniak declined to name the victim or the suspect. He said further information would be released at a later date.
