Federal Grant to Provide Study on County-Wide Internet

A $50,000 federal grant will fuel local efforts to make high-speed internet available across Allegany County. The improvement is expected to attract new jobs and business to the area. The Appalachian Regional Commission awarded the grant for a feasibility study on the project. Last fall, Maryland received $115 million to improve broadband access across the state.
