Finalists Named In Garrett County Superintendent Of Schools Search

June 9th, 2016 by WCBC Radio

Garrett County Public Schools' search for a new superintendent has been narrowed to three candidates.  Christopher R. Quinn, Eric Todd Fraley and Barbara L. Baker were named finalists for the position during an orientation and preparation meeting at Garrett College on Wednesday.

"The search for a new superintendent of Garrett County Public Schools has been the board's top priority," said Charlotte Sebold, Board of Education president. "We are excited to bring forth three qualified finalists. We appreciate the investment our community is making by participating in focus groups and providing input to the board. We plan on making a decision soon and helping our new superintendent move forward with our vision for Garrett County Public Schools."

The selected candidate will replace Janet Wilson, who notified the school board in February that she would not seek reappointment to the position.

The three candidates will each spend a day in the school district next week, Monday through Wednesday. Each will hold a meet and greet with local officials, tour schools, have lunch with students, meet with media and have dinner and a dialogue with members of the Garrett County Board of Education. The candidates will also participate in interviews with panels of central office administrators, principals, teachers, leaders, parents and community leaders.
