Five locals among Governors “Green Bag” appointments

February 14th, 2020 by WCBC Radio

Governor Larry Hogan today submitted 168 appointments to the Maryland State Senate. Secretary of Appointments Chris Cavey presented Senate President Bill Ferguson with the names of the “Green Bag” nominees, including 84 women, half of all appointees. Governor Hogan recently declared 2020 as the Year of the Woman, which includes highlighting women leaders and their accomplishments across Maryland.

“Marylanders deserve the most capable and dedicated representatives for these critically important positions, and I am extremely proud of the men and women being submitted today,” said Governor Hogan. “These appointments reflect the diversity of our state, and I am confident that these appointees will help us continue to change Maryland for the better.”

The appointments included five from far Western Maryland: Allegany County:Janice Keene, Canal Place Preservation and Development Authority; and James J Stakem, Lottery and Gaming Control Commission. Garrett County:

Jim Hinebaugh, MEDCO; Madeleine Collins, Garrett College Board of Trustees and Luanne Ruddell, Maryland Commission for Women

Doesn’t it seem rather hypocritical during The Year of the Woman to have 1/2 of the nominees men? Can’t another 84 women be found to round out the list?
Instead just call 2020 the Year of the Human.

100% Agreed, Mac! I’m a (God made) Woman & it still truly PISSES me off about all this Identity Politics Bull that the Libtard Snowflakes & Corrupt, Greedy Power Hungry Politicians & their Propagandists in the Media have been constantly forcing on this country FOR DECADES!
I DON’T Care what job it is, the #1 Important ‘Attribute’ is the ABILITY/SKILL to do the job correctly-PERIOD! Age, Gender, Race, etc DOES NOT MATTER! It’s PURE 100% SEXISM~ DISCRIMINATION to give preference to a gender, Race, etc ESPECIALLY if they’re not as qualified as another person of the opposite sex! YET, to acknowledge that in today’s world makes YOU the evil one!
    SMH!
