The city of Cumberland’s Department of Community Development has made its recommendations as to how best to utilize the $721,790 it expects to receive in Community Development Block Grant money. The city received 33 applications totaling almost $5 million- and a public hearing on the proposed list was held Tuesday night as part of the council’s regular business meeting. Of the recommendations, the largest proposed allocation- $193,000- is targeted for the Neighborhood Matters property improvements program.
