Foote Removal Case Scheduled for July

April 25th, 2019 by WCBC Radio

Three days in late July have been scheduled in the case to remove Allegany County Board of Education member Wayne Foote from the board. During a 15 minute pre-hearing telephone session on Wednesday afternoon, the dates were set and other details resolved,  setting the stage for the first case of attempted ouster of a school board member in  Allegany County history. The outgoing Allegany County school board made that request to the state via a resolution approved at a special meeting in December. The state board in February informed Foote that charges will be issued against him. The allegations fall into the categories of breaching the confidentiality of board discussions in executive session, and sexual misconduct and intimidation. Foote is represented by Cumberland Attorney George “Mac” McKinley who tells WCBC News that an Administrative Law Judge will preside at the public hearing that will be held in Cumberland this summer..
