Footer Dye Works Developer Holds Informal Discussion

It’s been a good couple of months for the Footer Dye Works project, with the Governor including almost $1.2 million in the state’s capital budget for infrastructure improvements to the building; and two bills signed into law this week paving the way for a microbrewery and restaurant to anchor the commercial development. On Wednesday evening, the Allegany Arts Council hosted Footer Dye Works developer Michael Joy for an informal discussion of the project.  Addressing a crowd of around 50 at The Schwab Mountain Maryland Gallery at 9 N. Centre Street, Joy said he sees the project as playing an important role in the local arts scene and creative place making. Among those in attendance, Cumberland Mayor Brian Grim who feels the project can provide a major shot in the arm for not only Cumberland, but for the entire county…
